Starting April, 2008, The Holding “Otechestvennye lekarstva” Was renamed “Valenta”, and Schelkovskii vitaminnyi zavod called – “Valenta Pharmaceuticals”; this is connected with development of the company and its entry to the international market. Export to 18 countries accounts for 25% of the total sales volume of the company.
Since 2003, the strategy of the product portfolio diversification on the account of highly profitable branded and original medicines is being implemented in the holding. The share of brand generic and original medicines in the holding sales Grew in value from zero in 2002 to 46% in 2007. The company plans to bring 3 or 4 original developments by Russian scientists to the market every year. In 2010, the ratio of original products and generic products in the company’s sales in value is to reach 80% and 20% respectively.
The company is carrying out active policy of modernization of the existing production facilities in accordance with the international GMP standards. “Valenta” is the one of largest Russian medicine exporters.
